07 May 2013 How long will I be numb?
When it comes to getting dental work done, we are all thankful for anesthetic. Being numb makes it possible to do so many great treatments that improve our health, our lives and our SMILES. Really, it is amazing that we can take away the sensation of the body and fix it.
Once the procedure is over and you have left the office, wouldn’t it be great to leave the numbness in the dental office. Now, with a new medication called OraVerse (phentolamine mesylate) we can make the numb feeling disappear in unusually less than an hour. OraVerse is a dental practice breakthrough that quickly reverses unwanted numbness after routine dental procedures where local anesthetic is used. In clinical trials, the patients were able to regain normal sensation twice as fast as those who didn’t use OraVerse.
It can be used on any person who is taking any medication. There are no known contraindications or drug interaction.
This will be great for people who had to leave work and plan on going back. What if you have a late afternoon appointment and have a dinner date tonight? No need to be embarrassed with a numb lip or tongue that makes it difficult to speak clearly. It’s perfect for kids that can’t resist chewing on the numb lip to avoid that swollen, sore lip later.
We have recently added OraVerse to our practice and have had great reviews so far by everyone that has received it. Please ask about it at your next visit and be done with the numbness faster than ever before.
